Devotion & Scripture
Scripture: Ephesians 5:25-27 (NKJV)
"Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ also loved the church and gave Himself for her, that He might sanctify and cleanse her with the washing of water by the word, that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish."
Bible prophecy is not just about recognizing signs. It's about readiness. The Church is described as the Bride of Christ, and one day soon, the Bridegroom will return. But He is not returning for a distracted, defiled, or divided bride. He’s coming for a radiant, sanctified, and faithful Church.
Jesus gave Himself not only to save us but also to cleanse and prepare us. This preparation is ongoing—through the Word, through repentance, and through a life yielded to His Spirit. As we see the Day approaching, our lives should reflect the purity and devotion of a bride eagerly awaiting her groom.
Application
This week, examine your spiritual walk. Are there areas in your life that need cleansing? Are you living in a way that reflects the beauty and faithfulness of Christ’s bride?
Action: In your journal on Friday, reflect:
What steps did I take to pursue holiness this week?
Did I allow God’s Word to wash over and correct me?
What does preparing for the return of Jesus look like in my daily life?
Let your life be marked by readiness. He is coming at any moment. Let the Bride make herself ready.
