Scripture: Joshua 1:9
“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and of good courage; do not be afraid, nor be dismayed, for the Lord your God is with you wherever you go.”
Joshua stood at the edge of the Promised Land, facing battles, fortified cities, and nations stronger than Israel. God’s command wasn’t about self-confidence — it was about confidence in His presence.
Courage doesn’t come from ignoring fear but from knowing who goes before us. The same God who promised to Joshua promises us today: “I will never leave you nor forsake you.”
This verse points us prophetically to the One greater than Joshua — Jesus (whose very name in Hebrew is Yeshua, meaning “The Lord saves”). He leads us into victory, not just over land, but over sin and death. Victory was never about Joshua’s strength, but about God’s faithfulness — the same truth that anchors us today.
Action
This week, face your challenges with courage rooted in God’s presence. Each morning, declare: “The Lord is with me today.”
In your journal on Friday, reflect:
Where have I needed courage this week?
How did trusting God change my response to fear?
How can I remind others of God’s presence in their battles?
